Our Mission

The mission of the CIGA is to develop the sport of Gymnastics in the Cayman Islands and to oversee national team selection and representation at international events.

Accreditation

In 2009 the CIGA was approved by the Governor-in-Council as a Not-for-Profit organization under Section 80 of the Cayman Islands Companies Law to be the governing body of gymnastics in the Cayman Islands. CIGA is affiliated with the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee (CIOC) which provides leadership for Olympic sport in the Cayman Islands and is recognized by the Cayman Islands Department of Sport.

Achievements

For the first time in 2011, the Cayman Islands sent two gymnasts to compete in international events, the Island Games in Jersey and the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Isle of Wight. With a strong contingent of young athletes with longer term aspirations, the CIGA is committed to the development of a strong national program over the next five years and will target events including the Central American and Caribbean Games, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games and the Youth Olympics.
