About Us
The Cayman Islands Gymnastics Association (CIGA) is the national governing body for gymnastics in the Cayman Islands, responsible for oversight, regulating, and promoting the sport across the islands. Established in 2006 and officially recognised by the Cayman Islands Government, the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee (CIOC), and international governing bodies, CIGA serves as the central organization guiding gymnastics development in the Cayman Islands. As a registered non-profit organisation (NPO), CIGA works to expand access to gymnastics, encourage healthy lifestyles among youth, and build a strong community of athletes, families, coaches, and officials committed to the sport’s growth and values.
Since 2013, CIGA has been affiliated with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), the global authority for gymnastics that governs international competition standards, athlete eligibility, and technical regulations across recognised disciplines. This affiliation, alongside CIGA’s ties with the Pan American Gymnastics Union (PAGU) and the CIOC, enables Caymanian gymnasts to participate in major regional and global events—including the Island Games, CARIFTA Gymnastics Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, Youth Olympics, World Championships, and Olympics—under the Cayman flag. Local athletes continue to make history on the international stage, reflecting the association’s commitment to competitive excellence and athlete development.
CIGA fosters training opportunities and competitive experiences for aspiring gymnasts of all ages and abilities. Beyond competition, the association’s mission emphasizes the core values of excellence, friendship, and respect, aligning with the broader Olympic Movement and striving to make gymnastics both rewarding and accessible for children throughout the Cayman Islands.
